Join the Herd

Sponsoring a horse is a unique opportunity to impact the ministry by directly helping one of our horses. Your generous donation will help provide for hay, supplements,  medical treatment, rehabilitation, training, fence supplies,  equipment and other costs that are directly associated with the care of your sponsored horse.

A few of our horses have  physical disabilities, some have medical needs,  some scare easy,  some are bossy, some are in need of learning to trust, and they all, just like our kids, want to be loved and cared for.  The nurturing and caring of  this herd is a privilege and one of our highest priorities.  By choosing to JOIN THE HERD, you can further ensure quality care for our horses as well as a continued cost free opportunity for the children who participate in this unique program.

As a sponsor you are welcome to set up an appointment and come out to say HAY!  And if you would like to groom or provide more hands on care for your sponsored horse we would be glad to train you!

*  We are happy to accept any amount from our sponsors, but we do ask that you commit to a regular monthly donation.

Meet Rosie

Rosie, our mini donkey, is all about relationships!  She loves the kiddos, the volunteers, her paddock mates and the chickens that come to visit her.  She greets the morning chore staff with the sweetest of brays knowing that her treats (hiding her medicine) are soon to be enjoyed!  Rosie has laminitis, and needs special attention put towards her care. Rosie loves to be groomed and scratched and if you ignore her while in her paddock, she'll rub against your legs until you turn your attention back to her itchy spot.
Picture

Meet Norma

Norma is the older more mature mini donkey at the ranch.  You can tell that she's the boss but she is hardly ever really bossy with her younger friends.  She, like Rosie, believes that all of us here at the ranch live to love her.  Her favorite among favorite things to do is to lay in the sun and wait for her people to come.  She also gets a daily treat, no hidden medications, but just enough to keep her from thinking things are not fair.

Meet Pe

Pe, short for Penelope, is our very friendly ranch greeter.  Her hugs are free and wonderful.  She was hurt as a young three year old and lost one and one half of her ears.  The accident left her back legs limpy but she still manages to run to friends and visitors alike to generously give them her attention.

Meet Ewestas

Ewestas spent much of her life as a fertile Ewe in the service of her rancher.  A few years ago her little ones didn't survive the birthing process and she was left motherless.  It wasn't long before a little orphaned lamb was placed next to her for care and warm milk.  She was retired from the breeding program and her and her adopted little one where donated to the ranch.  She remains fairly skittish and doesn't enjoy hugs and pets but she will eat out of your hand, not because she wants to be near you, but because she'll do anything for cracked corn.
Picture

Meet Lilly

Lilly, our youngest sheep, was brought to the ranch after a difficult birth that resulted in her mother passing.  She was orphaned for only a moment when her rancher make the quick decision to place her in Ewestas' care.  The two where donated to us after the passing of our beloved sheep Piper.
Lilly, when she was a wee bit smaller, had been voted by her sheep peers as "Most Likely to Escape".  A title she lost with the weight she gained, her full sized belly no longer squeezes through the gate rails.
